How to Update Your BVN Phone Number Online in 2023

The Nigerian BVN which is an 11 digit number was introduced by the CBN to diminish all levels of theft and fraud. The Bank Verification Number served the purpose of a universal identity (ID) across 9ja financial institutions and banks.

In other words, it is best for your own safety and personal banking secureness.

I have seen a lot of people asking – How to change my BVN Phone number online for Free?

Or other BVN details such as correction of names, wrong date of birth etc. These issues can affect how you bank overall.

My advice is that you should try as much as possible to avoid all mistakes when filling out forms for a new bank account or those forms that ask for your BVN number (If you own a BVN). Ensure the dates of birth and names match the one on your BVN.

For instance, you want to open a new bank account and you don’t remember the date of birth used during your BVN registration.

Good news is – you can actually check your BVN date of birth and other details easily by visiting the bank you enroll with or any of the Bank branches you have an account with.
