Programming Languages For Bloggers/Web Designers

In recent times blogging/web designing has become a very huge source of income for various Nigerians. Thus like with any profession there are certain things that you need to learn and understand to be successful.

Although you don’t need to know any computer guru to successfully blog a knowledge of certain programming languages will make it easier to understand how your blog/website functions.

Programming Languages For Bloggers

    The knowledge of the following programming languages will go a long way in helping you design your blog/website.

  • HTML: HTML stands for hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is the programming language
    with which all websites/blogs are built on. HTML is very easy to understand and use, The HTML language is written using tags e.g <head> </head>  For more information on learning HTML you can visit W3schools W3C is the regulatory body concerning the web. W3c stands for World Wide Web Consortium.
  • CSS: CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS is used for designing web pages. The CSS code must be written alongside the HTML code as it cant function alone. You can either write the CSS code inside the HTML document or write it in a separate document them place the link in the <head> </head> of the HTML document. For more info visit W3schools
  • Javascript: Javascript is very different from Java in numerous ways. The javascript code must be written with the HTML code. Javascript is used to program web pages and create more interactive web pages. An example of a Javasript code is

</script>

This short code simply displays the Date and Time.

Other programming languages to learn include

  • PHP (Pre Hypertext Processor)
  • JQuery
  • Bootstrap

To practice these languages all you need is a text editor e.g Notepad and a browser.
